Senator Gillibrand Stands Up for Women's Health

On October 8th, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, joined other Democratic women members of the Senate on the floor to highlight the importance of women’s health in health care reform.  Senator Gillibrand focused specifically on women's health centers and the work they do to reduce unintended pregnancy and STIs. She lamented that the critical work women's health centers provide is being politicized as a part of the debate. She said we must safeguard access to women's health clinics, citing that 400,000 people in New York State receive health care from Planned Parenthood. The strategy for reform must protect these critical services.
