Statement from Planned Parenthood Advocates of New York
(ALBANY NY, Nov. 9, 2016) Today Planned Parenthood Advocates of New York (PPANY) remains steadfast in their commitment to ensuring New Yorker’s have access to the reproductive health care and rights we have relied on for decades. In the challenging days ahead of us, one thing is certain - we will never back down and we will never stop fighting to protect the access to care that New Yorkers depend on.
“We expect a productive 2017 legislative session which creates real progress for New Yorkers," said Joan Malin, Board Chair of Planned Parenthood Advocates of New York (PPANY). "Our leaders need to come together to advance and protect access to reproductive and sexual health in the face of uncertainty that the elections have brought. New York must continue to be a beacon on issues that affect our health, our families, and our future.”
“Our state’s Planned Parenthood health centers remain open to all New Yorkers so everyone has access to basic reproductive health care, no matter their zip code, income, sexual orientation, race, religion, gender, or country of origin. New Yorkers want abortion to stay legal and safe. We will fight to protect our rights and to ensure that people can access the care they need. We will not give up, we will not back down, and we will not be silenced.”
